2020 Elections

The 2020 elections represent a critical test for our democracy. The future of our country rests in our hands, and we must elect officials who will work for all Americans.

U.S. Senate

Cory Gardner, Colorado's junior senator, is up for re-election in 2020.  Several candidates have already declared for the Democratic primary.  We are starting to get to know the candidates, where they stand on issues and what sets them apart from each other - and we want you to as well so that you can make an informed decision about which candidate you think will best represent Colorado.  Watch this page for updates as we complete our research.

 

Dan BaerA career public servant, Dan Baer has directed Colorado's Department of Higher Education and acted as an ambassador in the Obama administration.  Denver.

 

Diana Bray - A first-time candidate and clinical psychologist who wants to focus on addressing climate issues.

 

Lorena Garcia - Executive Director of the Colorado Statewide Parent Coalition.  Previously worked for NAMLO International, Colorado Youth Matter, and Wyofile, among other nonprofits.  Denver.

 

Mike Johnston - Former teacher and state senator, Vail

 

Dustin John Leitzel - Pharmacist, Denver

 

Alice Madden -  Lawyer; former state representative and majority leader; served in the Department of Energy during the Obama administration.  Louisville.

Andrew Romanoff - Former state representative and two-time Speaker of the House.

 

Stephanie Rose Spaulding - Women’s and ethnic studies professor at University of Colorado Colorado Springs; senior pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church.  Colorado Springs.

 

John Walsh - Former U.S. Attorney for Colorado; appointed by President Obama.  Denver.

 

Michelle Ferrigno Warren (No Website) - Advocacy and strategic engagement director for the Christian Community Development Association; former public school teacher; founder of Open Door Ministries.

 

Angela Williams (No Website) - Current member of the Colorado State Senate, representing District 33, which includes much of Northeastern Denver; former majority caucus chair of the Colorado House of Representatives; former principal owner of an insurance agency.  Denver.

 

Trish Zornio - Lecturer at the University of Colorado Denver; former lead researcher and program director at the Stanford Center for Undiagnosed Diseases; former lead coordinator for a Colorado STEM research initiative.  Superior.
